The principles behind Pilates are the perfect compliment to any musician. Similar to a professional athlete, correct posture, stretching and core strength is imperative to sustain a long and pain-free career. Pilates will aid in breath control and strength on a skeletal level. In this beginner class we will explore the importance of a strong core, and good posture as it relates to a career in music. Learn basic stretches that can be performed before and after practicing/performing that will help prevent or stave off nerve pain, tension, and postural issues. Explore the mind-body connection through proper breathing and placement of the spine, and see how Pilates will help carry you through your day!
